I create art for people to enjoy what I hope is a fascinating visual experience. My abstracts are usually non-representational, however, I do enjoy creating pieces or abstract with visually complex ideas but also with a form of representational abstract as well. I love using color, line, textural elements, value change and shape to form the basis of the abstract. When it comes to realism, I seek to represent painting in a visually colorful and exacting manner that causes the viewer to enjoy the experience of knowing what the artist was trying to convey.

As a watercolor painter, I occasionally use other materials in my art such as ink, collage, gouache , acrylic, and any other select materials that will enhance the painting and the viewers experience.

I make every attempt to capture the light in my center of interest and contract it against background darks that energize my work. I seek out new and interesting topics to paint that will provoke a conversation with the viewer. After all, it’s the viewer who I am seeking a reaction from.
